Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

Our much-loved baby boy, Milo Griffin left us before he entered the world on the 18/03/19. His sudden passing was a devastating shock to us his parents, our families and friends who had been awaiting his eagerly anticipated arrival.

At 41 weeks, when we should have been bringing our son home to his newly decorated nursery, we found ourselves preparing for his birth in The Family Room of Forth Valley Women & Children's Unit.

We don't yet know why his little ❤️ stopped beating and our lives were forever changed by his absence. What we do know is that we will be eternally grateful for the support we were offered while coming to terms with his loss.

The Family Room is funded by generous donations from the public and private organisations. It is here that bereaved mothers can labour and give birth separate to the labour ward, where the happy cries associated with a live birth may be too much to bear. Afterwards, parents are given as much time with their child as they require to say goodbye and this is also supported by the use of a special 'cuddle cot'.

The Forth Valley Bereavement Team provided invaluable support to us, not only by providing a quiet and private space for us to absorb our tragic news and spend time getting to know our son but in also being a comforting presence and on hand to answer our questions when we needed.

Now that we find ourselves made parents but without our child to cherish, we want to ensure our Milo is remembered long after his passing. We will never get to celebrate his milestones as other parents do. We intend to mark that passing of time by raising as much money as possible to help support parents going through the pain we have had to endure.

Please donate if you can so we reach our targets and offer comfort to other parents in memory of our little prince.
