Story

My darling Dad died on 6 April 2019, following a short illness. He was a kind and loving father with a ready wit and great sense of humour. He was a true gentleman and a devoted husband to my Mum for over 50 years.

Dad was an absolute rock for my Mum when she had breast cancer in 2015, and again when she was critically ill with legionnaires disease in 2017. I know my Mum is sad that she couldn’t nurse Dad back to health the way he cared for her, so raising funds in his memory is the next best thing we can do.

Dad had Guillain Barre syndrome - a neurological condition with a very sudden onset, which results in paralysis through nerve damage. Whilst the condition is treatable, with a good long term prognosis, it was unfortunately not to be for Dad.

Please join me in honouring my Dad’s memory by making a donation to GAIN, a charity which funds research into and supports people affected by Guillain Barre syndrome and similar neuropathies.

My Mum and I thank you for your love and support at this time.
