Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have been working for the Salvation Army for several months now and through this, have come to understand the important part in plays in supporting people, not just nationally but internationally. I have come to appreciate the hard work that the Salvation Army does around the globe and the message they are trying to put across to people. Whether it is through supporting the homeless in the UK to assisting the sheltering and education of citizens overseas, the Salvation Army have an important part to play.
The message that William Booth started 150 years ago was about empowering people to make a better life for themselves through support, education and guidance. The work that I currently do with the Salvation Army is aimed at following these same principles and supporting people back into employment or supporting them in improving their current situations. Without the support if the Salvation Army and the ethos that the Army follows, these principles and aims will not be met. By running the marathon and raising funds for the army, I hope to be able to further assist in meeting the principles set out by William and Catherine Booth many years ago.
I have been running marathons, tri-athalons and iron man contests for over 10 years and during this time, have raised in excess of £40'000 for various charities and feel that I will be able to meet the minimum £2000 pledge and would aim to surpass this target.
So please dig deep and donate now.
