Alzheimer's Society - Lake District Four Peaks Challenge · 26 June 2012 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I've never done anything good for anyone before, but as the years go by, I see many friends, colleagues, aquaintances and indeed, family suffering with illnesses none of us would wish on our worst enemies. My own Father is experiencing the early stages of memory loss and (hate to use the word) dementia and I know how hard it is for him and I also know how hard it is for my Mother.

In recent years I have discovered the release and freedom that comes from walking on the Moors down here in Devon and the glorious landscapes of the South West coastal path (only 450 miles to go Brad!!). Walking the hills has become a passion I guess and the Four Peaks Challenge gives me an opportunity to combine something I'm at last reasonably good at, with the chance to do someone some good.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
