Zac is improving well, now working with me again. Looking forward to the trek.

Thanks to all of you for donating, the total is way beyond anything I expected. (But we'll keep collecting) We would love to shatter the £5K.

Special thanks go to all my friends at http://dashack.co.uk/go/index.php you can't beat bikers.

In fact thanks go to everybody who has donated.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As some of you may know, Zac suffered a brain tumour this year and although the operation to remove it was successful he has a long road to recovery. We had no idea he had this problem until we couldn't wake him one morning.

Headway, http://www.headway.org.uk/ , are working with him to achieve this.

About us

Happy Birthday Headway!

In 2009, Headway - the brain injury association celebrates its 30th anniversary. Click here to read more.

Headway is here to help

Headway is a charity set up to give help and support to people affected by brain injury. It does this in a number of ways:

Locally

A network of local Groups and Branches throughout the UK and Channel Islands offers a wide range of services, including rehabilitation programmes, carer support, social re-integration, community outreach and respite care. The services available will vary, depending on local needs and resources.

Nationally

Headway UK provides support to the local Groups and Branches and helps to deliver high quality services through guidance on policies, procedures, standards and training. Additionally:

  • The Headway Helpline provides information, advises on sources of support, finds local rehabilitation services and offers a listening ear to those experiencing problems.
  • We publish a range of booklets containing information about aspects of brain injury that will be helpful to those directly affected, plus professionals, employers and members of the public
  • We promote understanding of brain injury and its effects
  • We lobby for better support and resources to be made available by statutory health and social care providers.
  • We campaign for measures that will reduce the number of brain injuries
  • Go to the homepage or use the buttons at the top of the page to explore our website.

Sarah and I want to give something back and decided to do their Sahara Trek to try to raise £5000.
