Thank you for visiting my fund-raising page...
As I do every year, I am participating in a 10k run for charity. The event is on Sunday 10 April 2011. This annual event raises money for a number of charities and good causes.
The official partner for 2011 is Age UK – the leading charity for the elderly in the UK. The money will also support BAPS Charities – an international charity organisation committed to serving the world by caring for individuals, families and communities. I have personally been raising funds with this charity for over 10 years as a volunteer and have seen for myself the huge advantageous impact they have had.
The event will bring together more than 3,000 people from a variety of different ages and backgrounds as well as joining local communities across the country to support the various good causes of BAPS Charities. BAPS Charities is currently supporting the victims of the devastating earthquake in Haiti as well as organising a multitude of health awareness initiatives.
I haven't trained for a few months and am carrying an extra 5kg, so not planning on beating last years time of 48 minutes, but I am going to try for less than 55 minutes (that's with no training and extra weight).
I would be very grateful if you could support me for this event by making a small donation. I aim to collect a minimum of £250 and, I would appreciate any sponsorship that you can offer.
Thanks for reading this and I look forward to your support.
