Thanks for taking the time to visit my Page. I really appreciate this.
Education is important to all. A child without
education is a child without a future.
I am supporting the Emmanuel Jal Foundation whose aim
is to help the hundreds of child-soldiers and local children residing in his
home village who have no school to go to. Many of the children have just one
small meal a day so I am joining Emmanuel Jal who, since December 08, has also eaten
just one meal a day to raise awareness of this cause. Until we raise the
$140,000 needed to build his school I am foregoing lunch, whatever the
occasion, social, corporate, etc.
All I ask is that the money that would normally be
spent on my food is donated to this Justgiving Page.
Together we can
improve the lives of so many children who currently have little to look forward
to.
GUA
Africa was founded by Emmanuel Jal, an ex-child soldier turned to be Rap
artist, International speaker for peace. The word GUA (pronounced gwaah) means peace in Nuer, a tribal language of
Southern Sudan.
Our
mission is to work with individuals, families and communities to help them
overcome the effects of war and poverty. Each of our projects focus on
providing an education to children and young adults who would otherwise be
denied such an opportunity.
In
April 2008 we were granted full UK charity status and our sister organization,
Gua Africa US, received official non-profit status in May 2009.
