Inca Trail Challenge 2011
A message from Mo Whittaker
I have committed to join a group from the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors on their Inca Trail Challenge to discover Machu Picchu in walking boots rather than ‘high heels’!.
This is not a trip for the faint hearted - it is a challenging trek on steep trails climbing to 4200m in diverse mountainous country with the major problem of altitude.
The 20 walkers will leave the UK on 26th March and will be raising money for 3 charities including The Christie which is my chosen charity. It was with this in mind that inspired me to join the group.
I know I’m one of many whose families and friends have been affected by Cancer; close to home – both of my parents died from cancer and latterly, my brother Geoff.
As most of you know, I have joined the board of Verte Limited and I am enjoying a different challenge - raising the profile of a newly established company. Verte’s MD is well known to many of you in the construction world and is testiment to the wonderful treatment Dave received at The Christie following a long, painful and life threatening illness. Now fighting fit and leaving me to do all the talking (no jokes please!), our new business has taken off with a bang. Verte will be sponsoring me in many ways – one which will be announced shortly – an open mike night to be held in early February.
In the meantime, I am asking you all to consider donating by clicking on the link below.
I aim to raise in excess of £5,000.
