Story
In recent years Syria has been destroyed by conflicts.
Millions of innocent children, men and women have been caught in the middle of it all. Some died and some fled.
People like me and you seem to get carried away and are quick to point the finger. We think about factors such as; economical factors Financial factors? Social factors….. And the list goes on.
But we forget the most important factor of them all; The Humanitarian factor …
We need to stop and think!
These people may not be related to us in any way. Picture yourself One day you’re living in peace. The next day you’re fearing for your children’s life. You’re having to calm down your child because they're crying from fear of the sound of the bombs raining down, your trying to calm down, but you know full well, that you and your children could die at any time.
That is a life we hope not to ever face. But the reality is, people have lived through fear and uncertainty. The least we could do is help.
Every individual has basic dreams. A caring mother dreams of
having to see her child on their first day of school. A hard working father
dreams of seeing his son in a graduation gown. A humble teenager dreams of having his first job. Basic dreams that we all are allowed to have, dreams that make life, life.
Innocent people have been stripped from their basic dreams,
stripped of having basic life. And the most basic thing we can do, is to give a helping hand, to lessen their suffering.
I am going to walk up Snowdon on 29th of May, in the hope that I will raise £200 for refugees – men, women, children, babies and the elderly, who fled, fearing for their life, and now stranded
in Idomeni in Northern Greece. These vulnerable refugees are living in a
polluted wasteland with little food, shelter and medical care. They are living in atrocious conditions.
“If I knew that I’d be living in conditions like this, I would have stayed in Syria and died there.”- Syrian Refuge
The money you donate will go towards providing:-
- Healthy, wholesome meals,
- Providing necessary medical support to the most vulnerable people, including expectant mothers and young children.
- Removing debris from the coastlines and seas caused by the thousands of refugees washing up on the shore. To reduce the environmental pollution.
This is the least we can do, so please give generously :-) !
