Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit ‘my just giving’ page.
Below is my story with a little bit of information regarding the cause we are hoping to raise funds for in the month of September.
Prostate Cancer is currently the most commonly diagnosed cancer for men in the UK. Almost 50.000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year - which is more than 130 every day. However, thanks to recent research/treatment the chance of survival from prostate cancer has massively increased over the past few years. Today 1 in every 2 patients will survive from prostate cancer, compared to 1 in every 4 around 40 years ago.
We are very ambitious to accelerate this progress even more by raising funds towards research into new treatments and also provide support for families impacted by this fatal disease. To do my part, I will be taking part in the Prostate Cancer “March the month” (Now be held in September) event which involves walking a minimum of 11,000 steps or 6 miles per day for the whole of September. This will be my 3rd year taking up this challenge and this year I will also have my friend and colleague from work, Nariman who lost his dad to prostate cancer last year, ready to take up this challenge with me in his dad’s memory. Together, we will be walking at least 22,000 steps per day and on this journey we welcome anyone who would like to join us in this great cause by either walking 11,000 steps per day or donate to this fantastic charity.
We really appreciate all your support and thank you for your donation.
