Mount Snowdon Trek, in the aid of Rohingya Refugees · 22 April 2018

Save the Mother's Trust was Established in 2003 by a group of young people who shared the belief that people in poverty and hardship need the opportunity and support to become self sufficient and independent SMT is running various projects in a number of Third World Countries.

Story

The Rohingya Refugees have been subject to apartheid like crimes for over a decade, however, the lack of media coverage by main stream media has sidelined it to peripheral issue.

Caged without a roof” puts into context the recent wave of violence in Myanmar, when the security forces killed Rohingya people, torched whole villages to the ground, and drove more than 600,000 to flee across the border into Bangladesh

“The Myanmar authorities are keeping Rohingya women, men and children segregated and cowed in a dehumanising system of apartheid. Their rights are violated daily and the repression has only intensified in recent years.“
Anna Neistat, Amnesty International’s Senior Director for Research

The Rohingya people in Myanmar are trapped in a vicious system of state-sponsored, institutionalised discrimination that amounts to apartheid. With the world watching on in cinematic fashion it is truly up to us to help our fellow Muslims in their hour of need

So please dig deep into your charitable pockets and spend in charity!

The reminder we all need to encourage ourselves is summed up in the hadith below:

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Allah said: Spend in charity, O son of Adam, and I will spend on you.”
