At least 21 people with epilepsy in the UK die each week. SUDEP Action, is the only UK charity dedicated to supporting those bereaved by epilepsy, raising awareness of epilepsy risks and tackling deaths in people with epilepsy, including Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP).

Story

This year I have chosen to once again take part in our club challenge to collectively swim the length of the channel as well as climb the Yorkshire 3 Peaks.

Despite almost drowning last year (swimming really isn't my thing) I will once again be front crawling/ dogging paddling/ floating my way to completing many lengths of the Edge swimming pool this November.  Last year we managed to swim over 2 channels so we will be aiming to do at least this again!!

If that wasn't enough, I will also be attempting (and I mean attempting) to walk all 3 of the Yorkshire 3 peaks, a total distance of 39.2Km, in under 12 hours this Easter.  For those friends that witnessed me climb Slieve Donard summer of 2k15 they will know I am also not much of a hiker either so again this will also be a great struggle.

It would therefore mean so so much to mean if you would donate to the wonderful charity we are supporting, SUDEP Action and motivate me to get through these challenges.

This is a charity that really means an awful lot to our club, Emily Sumaria, a former member of the club, passed away a few years ago due to Sudden and Unexpected Death in Epilepsy. So please please donate, no donation is too small, it all helps towards our target!!!! .

Little bit about SUDEP:

Although most people with epilepsy live long and healthy lives, epilepsy is one of the top-ten causes of early death. At SUDEP Action, we focus our efforts on providing tools to help keep people safe and on the priorities that bereaved families tell us are important: To prevent deaths; To be supported; To be involved.

We have won national and international honours for our achievements to date, but we recognise there is much more work to do, and this is why we need your donations. With your help we can strive to make a difference.
