“Milly Fillies”

Hi, we are the “Milly Fillies” a group of mums and friends from Milltimber and we are doing a walkathon to help Molly reach her £10,000 target for JDRF.

Some of us are walking the full marathon (26.2 miles) and some are walking a half marathon. We are in the training phase and there have been a lot of “Sair” feet so far. We are setting off from Molly’s house in Contlaw Place on Saturday 12 May 2012 at 0800 for the full marathon and 1200 for the half marathon, all ending up back at Contlaw Place to cross the finishing line around 1600, all being well!!.

We would be delighted to see you at the start or finish line to show your support and of course you can sponsor us through this page, with funds going straight to JDRF. This is a joint page for everyone to use so you only need to donate once.

The ladies walking are Aileen Stewart, Susan Ronald, Angela Maitland, Lynne Freeland, Jenni Smith, Emma Flett (The Crafty Elf!!) Alison Jones, Alex Ednie, Beth Cowie, Adele Lewis, Lucy Glasgow, Gina Clark, Marie Philpot, Mandy Clark, Julie McWilliam, Jan Williams, Audrey Ireland, Anne Mcintosh, Kerry Tait, Katherine Ardila, Rachel McDermott, Carol Anne Cowie,Karen Prise, Maryanne Cawson and Jackie McCann. Of course anyone else who would like to join in would be most welcome!!  Thank you for your support, we really appreciate it.

Hello my name is Molly Massie and I am 11 years old, I would like to raise as much money as I can for JDRF. I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes on the 8 of February 2011, just over a year ago.

I have an aim to raise £10,000 for JDRF and I will not rest until it has been achieved. I am moving To America in early August and ideally I would like to reach this target before I go. In order to do that, I have called upon some friends to help me. My mums friends and some of my friends mums are going to do a walkathon, we have a ladies night planned and we have some stuff from the jumble sale left so we are going to doe a Car boot Sale.

JDRF stands for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and they are a charity that is dedicated to finding a cure for Type 1 Diabetes.

“JDRF raises money to drive world-class research, providing funds for the very best projects, wherever they happen to be around the world. We aim to find new ways to treat type 1 Diabetes and its complications, prevent type 1 from developing in the first place and find the cure for people who already have the condition.

JDRF was established by a group of parents and children with type 1 diabetes. They believed that more had to be done to speed up the search for the cure. That belief still drives us today.”- JDRF Website

http://www.jdrf.org.uk/

Please help us raise money to help find a cure.

Thank You

Molly Massie
