Here I am again...!!
I have been threatening to retire from these antics but I could not resist the challenge and privilege of running the 2012 London Marathon. I really mean it when I say this will be my last (of this proportion) as I am getting on a bit.
This time (my last remember…) I am going to be raising money for an organisation called London Youth. The charity is a vibrant network supporting 75,000 young people a year. They work in communities across the capital - and at their two outstanding education centres in Buckinghamshire and Sussex. What attracted me to London Youth was my nephew’s involvement in Youth Parliament and my growing concern about how we need to help young people be the best they can be.
Their vision is for every young person, whatever their background, to be valued and challenged to reach their potential. Their mission is to improve services and opportunities for young people particularly those who might be in any way disadvantaged or at risk of being excluded.
Michelle Obama recently said “Success is not about the background you come from. It is about the confidence you have and the effort you invest. Your past does not determine your future”
Thank you very much for reading this and for supporting me in raising £2000 for London Youth.

Ps if you are in London and fancy coming down to watch me undertake this enormous challenge on April 22 next year…
