The Mongol Rally · 15 July 2018

The CFT is a Children’s Charity & Independent Fostering Agency. Established in 1945, we have looked after many children & young people from diverse backgrounds with all sorts of needs within our dedicated and committed foster families. Our aim is to provide the highest quality care we possibly can.

Story

As part of team Nervous Breakdown, we’ll be completing the 2018 Mongol Rally and raising money for charity: setting of from London and driving across the breadth of Europe and Central Asia to the finish line in Ulan Ude, Siberia. If you’d like to learn a bit more about the Rally, please visit the organiser’s website at:

I want to start by flagging that £500 of the charitable funds the team raises will go to Cool Earth (the sponsor charity of the Rally), to offset the environmental impact of us traipsing halfway around the world in a car that's almost the same age as some of the recently announced England squad.  This one of the few rules relating to Rally participation, and a pretty good one at that.

However, our main charitable interest lies with the Children's Family Trust - an independent (not for profit) fostering agency - who do great work with foster parents to ensure the children under their care benefit from the best possible support. This cause is particularly close to one rally member (Charlie) whose parents welcomed his foster brother into the family 5 years ago - and haven't looked back since.

The CFT really do fantastic work, and if you find out more about them then please visit their website:
