Story

Monkton Prep School has set themselves the challenge of swimming the distance of the channel with as many pupils and teachers joining in as possible.  Hatton House (our boarding pupils and staff) are organising this event and will not only be swimming but will also be organising and running the day, managing all the jobs such as serving refreshments, being lane counters and supporting the swimmers.

Every pupil has been invited to take part regardless of swimming ability and speed in the pool, it is about the individual doing their best for their allotted time.

By succeeding in our swim challenge (all 1,344 pool lengths) we will also be raising money for local charity the Hope for Harmonie appeal. This is to raise funds for young Harmonie-Rose who lives locally to the Prep School. She was diagnosed at 11 months with Meningoccal Septicaemia, and has had a quadruple amputation. The money raised will go towards her future rehabilitation.
