Hey there,

Well it's that time of year again and I am about to do the Dander for Mary again!

The Dander for Mary takes place from the 30th June to 3rd July and involves walking around 70 miles over 4 days from St Andrews, down the Fife Coastal path to the Forth Bridges which is no mean feet (no pun intended!) especially as I don't normally walk to the end of my street or partake in the old exercise lark on a daily basis!

Probably some of you will be thinking I'm off my head given the nightmare sore feet I had doing last year's Dander (see pic!)

So why may you ask do I want to do do this again - to which there are a number of reasons;

1) The Mary Leishman Foundation is such a worthwhile cause and it's aim is to ease distress and encourage potential and gives funds back to the local area and local causes an throughout Scotland.

2) For my dad who passed away 19 years ago of cancer and who I miss every day. He was a lifelong Pars fan who used to take me along to the games rain or shine when I was wee. He thought alot of Big Jim and I know he would be very proud of me doing this.

3) For the sense of achievement and giving me the chance to help local causes and also encourage me to get off my backside and get fit!

4) To walk with the best bunch of people you could meet and for the banter!

I'm not claiming I'm going to walk every mile given the problems I had feet wise last year and I'm off to Italy the day after the walk for a wedding but I'm going to do my bit!
