Dear all,
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 07 September 2012, I will be beginning my climb of Mount Kilimanjaro. Kilimanjaro, with its three volcanic cones, Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira, is a dormant volcano in Tanzania and the highest mountain in Africa at 5,895 meters or 19,341 feet above sea level. I will be climbing Kilimanjaro over a period of 6 days and I hope to reach Uhuru Peak, at the end of an exhausting climb, to sit at the summit and watch the sunrise over Africa.
I will be funding the climb myself, but I am asking for your help to achieve something spectacular and give a London based charity a helping hand; this charity is called 'Thrive'. Thrive uses gardening to change the lives of those touched by disability; it is a small charity founded in 1978 with the aim to help individuals of all ages accomplish things they wouldn’t necessarily get the chance to do.
Having thought long and hard about what kind of charity I would like to undertake my climb for, Thrive could not have been more appropriate. It was important for me to find a charity that was based in England, it had to help the elderly and most importantly it had to do so using gardening. Please see the attached link should you require any further information on Thrive.
