What is our charity?

Dystonia is a neurological condition causing involuntary and uncontrollable muscle contractions, affecting various areas of the body, sometimes more than one area and sometimes the whole body.  Dystonia is difficult to diagnose, meaning many people suffer for years without treatment. Yet current estimates suggest about 40,000 people in the UK suffer from dystonia. We do.

"Moving on together" is the slogan adopted by the Norfolk and Suffolk Group of the Dystonia Society and it represents the fact that whilst our bodies are constantly in motion, as a support group we are no longer alone.

What are we doing?

We are walking from Swardeston, the birth place of Edith Cavell, to her statue in Norwich. Dystonia sufferers need courage to cope with the day to day challenges that the condition demands plus we are reliant on the best that medicine has to offer.  We recognise that this Norfolk heroine embodies these qualities.

Please help us

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.  We appreciate whatever you can afford to give.  An money raised will be used by the Norfolk and Suffolk Group to assist other dystonia sufferers in the area.

Please note:

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
