Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit the Group Finance Big Employee Challenge Just Giving page.

The Vodafone Group Finance Team are raising £30,000 for the Vodafone Foundation Moyo Lesotho Challenge to support a generation of young people living with HIV/AIDS in Lesotho.

For more information on what some of our finance colleagues are doing to fund raise for Moyo on an individual basis, please visit to the Group Finance ‘team’ page at www.justgiving.com/teams/VodafoneGroupFinance

Moyo Lesotho is about getting a generation of young people living with HIV onto treatment.  We know that of the 41,000 children and young people under 16 living with HIV in Lesotho, as many as 36,000 are not on antiretroviral treatment (ARVs).  Just £30 a month provides a child HIV test and allows faster treatment.  By raising money and using mobile technology, we can get more children tested and on treatment faster.  Working together with the Ministry of Health and other partners, we want to have put a generation of young people on ARVs by 2020.

The funds raised will be used to provide:

  • Transport: travel funds will be sent via mobile money, so children can travel to receive life-saving treatment;
  • Testing: results will be sent via mobile getting children diagnosed and on treatment more quickly; and
  • Treatment: sending mobile clinics to rural areas and connecting them via mobile will bring life-saving care further and faster than ever before.

Vodafone Group Finance would like to thank you for visiting our page and thank you for your support.
