We Support children living in poverty to help them through crises situations

Story

Hello.

New running shoes have been purchased and the lycra is being aired in preparation for the big day. Yes! I am running the London Marathon in April (lunging and stretching as I type).

I have decided to raise money for a fantastic charity called Miracles. Fifteen years ago Miracles came into being amongst the rubble and horror of the 92-95 Bosnian war. Their vision then was to provide practical support and comfort to the poor and destitute and to alleviate the suffering of children affected by the war and living in poverty. They continue this work today. I would urge you to have a look at their website - www.miraclesthecharity.org. It offers a great insight into the brilliant work that they carry out.

So what do you get in return?

- the knowledge that you are helping people who, through no fault of their own, have found themselves in difficult situations.

- regular training updates from me (I'll try not to be too graphic)

-  the knowledge that your support will have given me the drive and determination to run over 26 miles through the streets of London.

If you want any further information then please feel free to email me - chris.holliday@me.com.

Please donate as much as you feel you can. Every penny is greatly appreciated.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Miracles is a UK children’s charity supporting families living in poverty and helping them through crisis situations such as serious illness. We work with referral agencies such as children's hospitals (Great Ormond Street, Royal Marsden and the Homerton), charities like CLIC Sargent, social workers, schools, Citizens Advice and women’s refuges. We offer a 24-hour rapid response so that our support is there when families need it – when it can really make a difference. We offer three support programmes: - Crisis funding – 24-hour turnaround – practical and rapid support for families who have no one else to turn to. Mainly for families with children in hospital – we help with travel, accommodation, washing machines, fridges, cookers, bedding and everything else to help get them through the crises and out the other side. - Respite breaks – for families with children recovering from or undergoing treatment for serious illness. A break can make all the difference in recovery helping to bring the family back together after a traumatic prognoses and long treatment regime. - Feed London – our response to the crippling food poverty crises in London – we delivering essential food boxes stuffed with enough ingredients for 6+ meals, recipes, supermarket vouchers and creative kits for children – all at the start of the school holidays when hunger is at its worst.
