Story

My friend James's Dad was recently diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer.

James and his brother Dan have set up a charity called "Petes Pancreas Project" which initially aims to raise £150,000 to fund much needed research and raise awareness for the condition.

Myself and 58 others are going to undertake the "Tough Mudder" event which is a 12 Mile assault course designed by the special forces, to raise money and awareness. As I'm sure many of you are aware i'm not exactly the seasoned marathon runner!! ... and after going on my first run a couple of months ago in which I made it to the end of the road and nearly collapsed in a heap I realised I would need to do some serious training for this mamouth event!

This is a really great cause and just a few pounds will make a real difference, but even if you aren't in a position to give if you could just take a minute to read about what we're doing and the charity that would be fantastic.

Charity:

“Pete's Pancreas Project is the fundraising effort to finance some research to help people in a similar situation. "The Dowen Trust Fund" has been set up at The Hepatobiliary Unit, Freeman Hospital, Newcastle Upon Tyne”.

About the charity
