Hi everyone,

I will be climbing Cadair Idris with some friends from university this Saturday (17th November) to raise money for East Africa in light of recent events.

The situation in East Africa has deteriorated rapidly of late. Across Somalia, Yemen, South Sudan and Nigeria, there are

20 million people

who are suffering and are on the brink of famine. Just in Somalia, over

6 million

people are affected by food shortages, almost

half of the population

.

I would like to leave you with a small quote from the Qur'an: "Indeed, the men who practice charity and the women who practice charity and [they who] have loaned Allah a goodly loan - it will be multiplied for them, and they will have a noble reward." (57:18)

Please give what you can, no matter how small and help out your brothers and sisters.
