Bupa Great North Run 2014 · 7 September 2014 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Some (most) of you will know that my mother passed away in December 2013 from complications arrising from her battle with a rare side effect of a stroke (normal pressure hydrocephalus).

But, back in 2012 immediately after her stroke, we were hopeful of a full recovery. The advice on the Stroke Association page http://www.stroke.org.uk/ was key to getting a great initial recovery and building our understanding of what we could do to help.

I want to give something back to say thanks for that time.

The next bit is the Just Giving bit that reminds you that your money is safe and actually goes to the charity. Please remember to give it as Gift Aid if you pay UK tax. Doing so will turn every £1 you give into £1.25 for the charity. It'd be rude not to really, wouldn't it?

Thanks in advance for you generosity.

Right then, its time to...... Run, Fat Boy, Run!!
