The St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation is the charitable arm of the St. James’s Place Wealth Management Group. The Foundation supports hundreds of carefully selected projects in the UK and abroad to make a positive and lasting difference to people's lives.

Story

In April 2012, over 27 trekkers and a small climbing team will fly to Kathmandu in Nepal to trek to Everest base camp. The gruelling trek over 120 miles will take the team to heights of 18,500 feet, through some of the most stunning scenery in the world.

As one of the oldest members of the team the preparation for and expedition to Everest Base Camp represent the greatest physical challenge of my life. I have wanted to return to the mountains and people of the Himalayas since my one previous trip, in 1994, and our expedition not only provides this opportunity but enables me also, as a former cancer sufferer, to support both Prostate Awareness and the charity Listen at Kings which supports the Liver transplant unit at King’s College Hospital who saved my daughter’s life in 2006.
