The gruelling trek over 120 miles will take the team to heights of 18,500 feet, through some of the most stunning scenery in the world. </span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 16pt 0pt 0in; tab-stops: 5.75in;"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: black;"><span style="font-size: small;">As one of the oldest members of the team the preparation for and expedition to Everest Base Camp represent the greatest physical challenge of my life. I have wanted to return to the mountains and people of the Himalayas since my one previous trip, in 1994, and our expedition not only provides this opportunity but enables me also, as a former cancer sufferer, to support both Prostate Awareness and the charity Listen at Kings which supports the Liver transplant unit at King’s College Hospital who saved my daughter’s life in 2006. </span></span></p>
