Muscular Dystrophy UK is the charity bringing individuals, families and professionals together to beat muscle-wasting conditions.

Story

Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page.

Kerr is my cousins 6 year old son and was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a progressive muscle wasting disease, when he was only 3. Without effective treatments, Kerr will likely be wheelchair bound by the age of 12.

A group of friends and family have decided to cycle the NC 500 and back to Falkirk in order to raise much needed funds to support research into this disease. In total we will be covering over 1000 km over 8 days. The team includes myself, Richard Sims, Steven Keiss, Stephen Humphries, Wayne Kirkness, David Scullion and Charlie Sims.

All money raised by our team will go to Muscular Dystrophy UK's Duchenne Research Breakthrough Fund. This is a fund that pays for vital research into the disease and we hope that in the not to distant future, an effective treatment and ultimately a cure will be found.
