<p>On <span style="color: #0000ff;"><strong>Friday 7th October</strong><span style="color: #888888;">,</span> </span>a slightly crazy but determined bunch of Co-operative, BAM Construction, 3DReid and Gardiner & Theobald staff, including The Co-operative Group Chief Executive Peter Marks, will <span style="color: #0000ff;"><strong>abseil</strong></span> 10-and-a-half storeys through the atrium of our <strong><span style="color: #0000ff;">N</span><span style="color: #0000ff;">ew Head Office building</span> </strong>in Manchester. We are aiming to raise as much money as possible for our 2011 charity of the year, Mencap.</p>
<p>The team is being assisted by the North West Mountain Rescue team to whom a huge thank you is extended!</p>
<p>The Co-operative's partnership with Mencap and sister charity ENABLE Scotland aims to raise funds for the Inspire Me programme which will 'inspire 20,000 young people with a learning disability to change their world'. This will be achieved through a range of volunteering, employment and community involvement opportunities.</p>

<p>We are using JustGiving so that you can sponsor us easily and donations will be quickly processed and passed to Mencap.</p>
