Dear friends,
On 10th April a dozen of us set off, along with 40,000 others, along the Champs-Élysées for a leisurely 26.2 mile jog. The weather was excellent - too good in fact - and before long it was a searing 25 degrees. 3 hours 15 minutes and 45 seconds later I stumbled over the finish line - legs like jelly, utterly exhausted and mightily relieved. It was 45 seconds outside my target time but given the heat I was grateful just to be standing!
A huge, huge thank you to all of those who have so generously supported me either through donations, emails, calls or even being there in Paris. I am delighted to say I have raised over £1,700 for the Too Many Women campaign (www.toomanywomen.co.uk), which is raising money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer (www.breakthrough.org.uk). As a group, the Paris runners have raised over £20,000 for Too Many Women which is really extraordinary.
Many thanks for your support. It means a huge amount.
Nick
