Story
Hi and thanks for clicking on my fundraising page.
Those of you who have known me for a while will know that I've run a few half marathons over the years, hadn't been running for a while, but having hit 40 decided to put my running shoes on again, run my first Marathon and in the process I want to raise some funds for this extremely worthwhile charity that is close to my heart for a number of reasons.
Most of you who know Lynn, Gareth or myself know that Gareth was born with a Diaphrragmatic hernia, was operated on at 20 hours old and that we had been told that he may not survive. After 6 weeks spent on Ward 2B however Gareth came home. In December 2010 Gareth turned 10 and we would like to raise as much funding during 2010 as a token of our appreciation for the work undertaken at Yorkhill Hospital.
Many of you will also know that my "day job" is buying medical equipment for the Health Board and in doing so I spend much of the money raised by the Foundation on their behalf and help to ensure that the funding you will be contributing too is spent both wisely and in a cost-effective manner.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please sponsor me now ! Any donations, large or small are greatly appreciated.
