Any money raised is going to be donated to APEC (Action on Pre Eclampsia Charity),they are a very small charity that need a lot of fundraising - currently in Northern Ireland the Health Service does not supply expectant mothers with any information about this awful condition which can result in death. Therefore we need to raise money so that more awareness can be raised about the condition with the hope to save the lives of mothers and babies.
Why this charity you may ask? For anyone that knows me,will know that in February this year (2010) my baby daughter Holly died due to me having pre eclampsia - it has been a very devastating time for us all and if I had known all the information about pre eclampsia maybe things would be very different today. It has made me determined to make other expectant mothers aware of the dangers of it. By raising money for this charity we will be able to provide hospital and community ante-natal clinics with leaflets detailing the symptoms etc...
