My colleagues and I are participating in the Great River Race 2013 on Saturday, 7th September. We have formed 2 teams of 10 participants each and I am paddling 21 MILES (yes, you read that right!) up the River Thames in a bell boat along with 9 members of my lovely team. The race starts in Docklands (Canary Wharf) and will finish in Ham (Richmond), while we cross Tower Bridge and numerous other bridges during the race course. More information about the Great River Race is at http://www.greatriverrace.co.uk/ 

Given, we have no experience of paddling/ steering a bell boat and the long distance, I believe it is quite an interesting challenge ahead of us! We will be paddling for a few hours (maybe 4ish if we're nearing the finish), so if you're in London hopefully you'll be able to spot us somewhere!
