The expedition sucessfully reached the Geographic North Pole on Saturday, 11th April and after camping the night there set off to attempt the return to the BARNEO drifting ice base rather than calling for helicopter recovery. This had not been attempted before and after an eventful couple of days we did mange to locate the new position of the base and to complete the expedition by being the first dog sled team to do the round trip in the 20-odd year history of the Russian base.
