Join us on a special torchlit walk where we'll shine a torchlight beacon out to the world from the summit of Ben Lomond ('Beacon Hill' in gaelic), and see what responses we get back, before the challenge of walking back down by torchlight to refreshments at the bottom.

The Ben Lomond Torchlit walk will give you the opportunity to climb Ben Lomond in the dark with the spread of twinkling lights disappearing off into the distance.  You'll be in the safe company of experienced Lomond Mountain Rescue Team members and the NTS Ranger Service.  What’s more, you can also do it whilst helping raise funds for two very good causes.

NTS Ben Lomond Path Repair - Each year Ben Lomond is climbed by over 30,000 people, and combined with rain, wind and extreme weather conditions this puts a lot of pressure on the paths. To prevent erosion spreading, we spend over £15,000 each year on the time and tools needed for staff and volunteers to carry out the essential maintenance work, and rely heavily on public donations and support for this. 60% of funds raised through the Torchlit Walk will go directly to help with this work.

Lomond Mountain Rescue Team-  The team respond to several call outs each year, including on Ben Lomond, and have rescued many people over the years. The team predominantly relies on the generosity of companies and individuals to help maintain its vital equipment, high training standards and annual running costs. 40% of the money you raise on this event will go to help the work of the Lomond Mountain Rescue Team.

While it would be great to see you on the night, and for those taking part any sponsorship raised would be much appreciated, we know that not everyone can undertake this walk. If you would still like to support us please give a small donation, we are asking for a minimum of £2, and we can read a message out on the summit for you or a loved one.
