With 3 weeks to go to the big event....please dig deep and support the effort all of us are making!!!!! Every penny helps to change someones life.Intro to the Team.....
You've heard of NYPD, FDNY, FBI, CSI NY.......now be ready for NYCP (New York Corporate Purchasing).....
7 Buyers from Tesco Corporate Purchasing team are taking on the New York Marathon this coming November. We aim to raise as much money as possible for Whizz-Kidz, an amazing charity which does so much for children with disabilities (see the 'What Whizz-Kidz do' attachment).
Meet the Team...
Who's running? A good question, as there is not an athlete in the department! But that is why we have set the goal at a marathon, what many people view as the ultimate test of the human body. The runners, some of whom you will no doubt enjoy seeing struggle with the training in the coming months, are:
Michael Williamson - Senior Buying Manager
Team leader and also the veteran of the group, Michael is determined to help this great cause.
Richard Holbourns - Buyer
Richard is the healthiest of the 7, spending most of his lunchtimes training.
Dan Travers - Buying Manager
Dan has a big challenge fitting the training in around his other hobby - being a guitarist in a band.
Steve Sharman - Buying Manager
Despite having the physique of Seb Coe, Steve swears blind he doesn't actually do any sport and he is just fortunate to have a 'fast metabolism'.
Tony Clissold - Buying Manager
Being a bit of a Jujitsu master, Tony has a challenge to complete his belt training as well as getting fit for the marathon.
Phil Spenceley - Buying Manager
Phil is the co-organiser of this fundraising activity, and has great experience having previously completed numerous running, biking and walking challenges in the aid of raising money for good causes.
Adam Smith - Buying Manager
Adam is the other co-organiser of the effort. He is keen to use this opportunity to get fit for life and football , as well as raising as much money as possible.
