Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-shortening genetic condition that slowly destroys the lungs and digestive system. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the only UK-wide charity fighting for a life unlimited, when everyone living with CF can look forward to a long, healthy life. www.cysticfibrosis.org.uk

Story

We survived and are really proud to have got round.

Despite ITBS (Look it up) a fall at the first mile on Staten Island Bridge and the general pain and exhaustion of running 26.2 miles, we ran the New York Marathon for a great cause:
"The Cystic Fibrosis Trust"

It is the UK's only national charity dedicated to all aspects of Cystic Fibrosis (CF). It funds medical research aimed at understanding, treating and curing CF. It also aims to ensure people with CF receive the best possible care and support through out their lives.
So can you help us make it all worthwhile by donating to this great cause? That's where this website comes in; it's the third such site we've used. With it last year the South Tyneside Team made over £12,000 for Marie Curie with the 2004 Great North Run (GNR) So far this year we have raised more than £10,000 for the CF trust from the 2005 GNR and hopefully there is more to come from the Marathon. This means that some of you may have already sponsored us in which case can we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. BUT if you can find an extra something to help us justify running the extra 26.2 miles that would be brilliant too. and for those of you who escaped our appeal the first time round, now is your chance! Some people aren't as keen on the internet and we do take donations in the conventional way just send them to the address below but this website makes things so much easier, just follow the links below. Either way as long as you confirm that you are a UK Tax Payer the CF Trust gets the money fast and an extra 28% in Gift Aid from the government at no cost to you. Thanks for your help Lots of love Barry Wilkinson, Rob Gregory, Alex, Suzanne and Stephen Cronin Someone has to think this lunacy is worth sponsoring even if just to see me collapsing in a heap.
