Story
On the 21st of September I will begin what is for me an epic journey from the top of Italy, NE of Milan, down through the flat lands to the Alps, and across some crazy Tour De France 2000 meter climb before settling into a further 300 miles of French road, completing what I hope will be 600 miles by the 2nd October.
I am breaking my balls training like a man possessed, riding through hail and locusts night and day. Training in a gym to fatten up those legs and trying to find Lycra that fits over my hips - see the film Belleville Rendez-Vous and times it by fifty!
All in all including my training I will have ridden about 3000 miles when I complete this journey and you’ve guessed it; I want to raise money!
Not just for one special interest but two: the Paediatric Department of Congenital Heart Disease and The Lymphoma Service at Guy’s, St Thomas’ and the Evelina Children’s Hospital in South London. The Evelina Children’s Hospital saved the life of a good friend’s little boy and deserve all the help they can get to help other children like Lucas; and yet another friend of mine has recently been to hell and back fighting Lymphoma, sick as can be from the effects of Chemotherapy and at the same time bringing up his son single-handedly.
Please try and see if you can help. I am hoping that you can share your hard earned cash and make a generous donation to these worthwhile causes - if 15 individuals or businesses give upward of £500 each it would make a major contribution and really transform lives.
