I've been given the opportunity (and have taken it up...!) to do a tandem skydive in Salisbury, Wiltshire, in order to raise money for Leukaemia Busters.

Leukaemia Busters is a UK-based (in Southampton) registered charity whose objective it is to develop new antibody-based magic bullet type treatments for children and adults with currently incurable forms of leukaemia.

This is achieved firstly through a high quality research and development programme to produce and evaluate new antibody-based drugs and secondly through clinical trials in patients to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of such newly emerging drugs.

I've known a couple of people survive Leukaemia, and a couple that haven't. Leukaemia can affect a person of any age and any sex, and I know how much an illness such as this dosen't just affect the one person, but that persons whole family and community.
