The Sick Children’s Trust is the charity that gives families with a seriously ill child in hospital a comfortable place to stay and a friendly ear to listen in one of our ten ‘Homes from Home’. By providing families with somewhere to stay near their child they have one less thing to worry about.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running the Leeds 10k to raise money for The Sick Children's Trust and Christians Against Poverty (please see my other page). Anyone who knows me knows I do not run... ever! But I have set myself this challenge because these two amazing charities are close to my heart. I trained for the run last year but an injury prevented me from racing. I'm determined to do it this time!

The Sick Children's Trust provides accommodation next to hospitals to enable families with seriously ill children to be close by day or night. When Toby was born and rushed to Leeds in the night it was amazing to have somewhere to rest, eat and take a break from the incredibly stressful ICU environment, knowing that I could still be by his incubator within minutes if things went wrong. The support this charity offered made the two weeks there bearable and I really want to help them to support more families like ours.

I'd love to raise the same amount for both the charities so please see my other page if you would like to give to Christians Against Poverty, another amazing charity!

Thank you for your support, I wouldn't be motivated to do this without it!
