Story
I am running the MKA Charity Marathon on 13th May 2012 at Tower of London.
First organised in 1985 this year represents the 27th anniversary
of AMYA’s Challenge. In that time it has raised in excess of £1 million for charitable causes. Last year, the event consisted of a 10km walk or run in Leamington Spa. More than 800 young British Muslims attended and many more helped to raise £138,000 for the supported charities. This year the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association UK is celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, the Charity Challenge will be held around the Tower of London. The final route will again be a 10km run or walk. The key aim is to ensure that the event is bigger and better than before. The charities that will be supported this year are:
• Royal National Institute for Blind
• Royal Hospital for Neuro Disability
• Royal British Legion
• Great Ormond Street Hospital
• Save the Children
• Lukaemia & Lyphoma Resarch
• Humanity First
• Barnardos
• NSPCC
• MacMillan Cancer Research
• British Heart foundation
• Yorkhill Hospital
Along with these charities we are also raising money for the Queens own Jubilee charity. We hope to raise a lot of money the Queens charity and also our 11 charities. So please come down and support us and be a part of something special
