Story
This all started with a winning raffle ticket and some how I'm now rowing from the Isles of Scilly to Lands End!
To all of my rowing buddies out there - please take note that the majority of the people taking part either have little or no rowing experience, so this is going to be a real challenge.
Its about 28miles and with an inexperienced crew it'll take roughly 7hours.
The Challenge
We plan to take 3 or 4 plus boats across to the Isles of Scilly on the Thursday night.
The Friday we will row together around the island to acclimatise.
The Saturday we will to row back to Land’s End.
The Sunday we will row around the rock in Sennen as a warm down and BBQ with the Sennen Gig club and then go and meet the cyclists coming in from John O’Groats.
As the event is weather permitting the local rows (Around IOS and Sennen Rock) will be done if the ultimate challenge can’t be.
The Charity
The Row will raise money for the Bath Rugby Foundation, which works with disabled and disadvantaged children through their Education and Inclusion programmes. www.bathrugbyfoundation.com
Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2013, the Bath Rugby Foundation is an independent charity, funded by grants and donations from businesses and individuals.
In 2012 22,500 children were helped by the activities of the Foundation and over 125,000 children have been helped since it started in 2003.
Please Donate
The row would be made a whole lot easier knowing that I'm rowing for everyone thats sponsered me so please donate what you can, "every little helps!"
