Story
It was the beginning of 2011 when I first met Lisa. Myself, Steve and Alfie called into our local coffee shop for a break from shopping when we were greeted by such a bubbly woman, her kind and caring nature shone through instantly. Unbeknown to us, Lisa was dealing with a condition that effected her daily life called Idiopathic intracranial hypertension IIH.
IIH is a rare neuroligical condition defined by increased intracranial pressure around the brain. It can cause severe headache and swelling of the optic nerves, which can lead to vision loss. Additional symptoms can include blackouts, nausea, pulsitile tinnitus, fatigue, visual disturbance, confusion and memory problems amongst others. At this time there is no cure for IIH and consistent effective treatment for IIH is lacking.
In the time my family have known Lisa, our friendship has grown and we have become the best of friends, but throughout this time we have seen how much IIH effects her daily life and also the effects it has on her husband, two young children aged 6 and 7 and the rest of her close family.
To support the condition IIH, I will be doing a skydive on the 26th August 2012 at sibson airfield at 12.30pm to raise money and awareness for this debilitating condition. If you wish to support me in doing this I would be very grateful for your generous donation. Thank you for donating to this very worthy cause.
