The Prestwich Plodders are a group of ladies in Prestwich, Manchester. What started out as a facebook group to talk about our running endeavours has become a lovely community of like minded ladies, supporting each other and meeting weekly for runs.

Recently a member of the group lost a friend to bone cancer. She was close to my own age and was a mother. Any of us could be struck down by this awful disease at any time. There really aren’t many people we know who haven't come into contact with Cancer, either directly or indirectly.

As a group we have decided that we would like to raise as much money as we can during 2018. We have a few things going on;

** Some of our lovely ladies graduated from the Plodders couch to 5k program and along with others from the group have decided to run the great Manchester run 2018 for team Plodders and The Christie V's The Manchester run. This is a huge undertaking for a fab group of women who 10 weeks ago weren't sure they could run 5km. All of these ladies are complete warriors so we have every faith that they will be there on the finish line on May 20th 2018, including me!!

** The amazing Aimi Barton will be running in the Manchester Marathon on April 8th 2018. This will be her first Marathon......she’s not at all nervous, and she certainly doesn't feel sick at the thought of it.
