Jersey Half Marathon · 20 November 2011 ·

Raising funds to aid research into Lafora Body Disease. Lafora disease is the severest form of human epilepsy. It afflicts previously healthy teenagers, initially with simple fits, then increasingly with prolonged fits that do not respond to medications.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We (Charlotte T, Charlotte K and Tash) have decided to run the Jersey Half Marathon in November in aid of local charity 'Hope for John'. All funds raised are going directly to aid research into Lafora Body Condition - the severest form of human epilepsy which affects one in a million people. The charity has been set up by the family of John Sharp who was diagnosed with the disease in 2008.

The rarity of the disease means that the on-going research into finding a cure for Lafora currently receives no government funding - so John and others like him really need your help to raise enough money to keep the research going (Scientists are confident a cure will be found).

Please give generously.

Thank you! :)

Love Tash, Charlotte T and Charlotte K xxx
