Story
Project Harar is a dedicated charity that helps rural children with severe facial disabilities access medical care. It's run by my good friend Tom Hoyle, whom I've known for nearly a decade, so I know that the money I raise will be put to excellent use - I'll certainly be holding him accountable :)
Project Harar work with children from the most isolated areas of eastern Ethiopia, who can’t afford to travel long distances to hospital. Without treatment, children have difficulty eating and speaking, and are often bullied by their communities.
Only half of children with cleft lips are able to go to school. Just £250 can pay for the child to reach hospital where they can have treatment helping them to eat, speak and smile again.
You can read previous success stories here, and watch a video of Zahir here, a young child who received treatment for noma, a devastating facial infection.
I’m trying to raise enough money for 2 little kids to get to hospital. Even a small donation would make a big difference and help speed me on my way as I cycle through the night!
Justgiving is totally secure and please remember to tick the 'gift aid' box if you're a UK taxpayer, which adds 25% to the value of your gift at no extra cost to yourself.
