Over 50 years old, the infamous "Fan Dance" march is the world's oldest Special Forces test and is used as the first major indicator of whether a candidate has the physical and mental aptitude to complete the legendary selection course. The 24km challenge begins with an immediate ascent of Pen y Fan which is 2,907 feet (886m). The route then descends on the other side of the peak before turning around and reversing the route.
