Coutts Fan Dance Challenge · 22 September 2018

Coram, the UK’s first and longest-serving children’s charity, changes lives, laws and systems to create better chances for children, now and forever.

Story

Over 50 years old, the infamous "Fan Dance" march is the world's oldest Special Forces test and is used as the first major indicator of whether a candidate has the physical and mental aptitude to complete the legendary selection course. The 24km challenge begins with an immediate ascent of Pen y Fan which is 2,907 feet (886m). The route then descends on the other side of the peak before turning around and reversing the route. The return leg provides an even tougher challenge with the evil ascent up the Fan known as Jocob's Ladder

Coram is the UK children's charity that has been supporting vulnerable children for 279 years, and is still finding new ways to help children. We now help around 1.4 million children and young people every year.
