Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

To all of you that do not already know I am doing a race on the 4th April called the Marathon Des Sables. The Marathon Des Sables is a 250km foot race over 1 week in the Sahara of South Morocco. Temperatures reach 50 degrees during the day and below 0 at night. You are food self-sufficient, carrying all you need for the week. You will be able to follow my progress on a day to day basis and you will be able to send me messages of encouragement which will be much  APPRECIATED. I will list the site details on my just giving page once I receive it.

In conjunction with the race I am trying to raise money for the Prostate Cancer Charity and would appreciate your support. Please help me support a charity that is very close to my heart. I am doing this race in memory of my uncle Doug who had a 7 year battle with the disease and sadly passed away in October 2009. His battle and determination has given me the motivation and drive to train for this event.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men with over 35,000 men diagnosed with it each year in the alone. In the one man dies from prostate cancer every hour, that’s 10,000 every year. The Prostate Cancer Charity fights prostate cancer on every front through research, support, information and campaigning.

All money raised goes straight to the charity and does not subsidise my costs, so please help me to raise awareness of this deadly disease.
