For 2018, it seemed like a good idea to do something new. And by something new, run a distance I didn't really understand fully - I hadn't, and still haven't run a marathon, let alone 58km. Add in more than 1,700 meters of ascent and it should be a fun day out in the Irish hillside :)

As I don't see myself doing many of these events (ideally 1-2 per year going forward), they seem like a perfect way to collect something for some charity!

Why ISPCC? The great company I work for, Vodafone, has a very active input into the ISPCC, and I've been involved with some updates their making to their tech systems this year. It seems like a good reason to kick off some donations to a great cause and team of people.
