Story
Thank you very much for visiting my Justgiving page
In July I am attempting the Welsh 3000s Challenge. http://www.welsh3000s.co.uk/
In order to complete this Challenge I am required to summit all 15 mountains over 3000 ft in Wales within the space of 24 hours, without using any form of transport. From the start of the route to the finish point, the distance of the challenge is just over 30 miles with over 16,000 feet of elevation including some terrifying knife edge ridges.
All donations recieved will go towards the National Osteoporosis Society.
Osteoporosis affects one in two women and one in five men over the age of 50 and results bones becoming so porous that they break easily from a minor bump or fall. The cause of the disease is still not fully understood, but research continues to build up a picture of the factors that influence our bone health. The money raised will be of great help in continuing this research.
The National Osteoporosis Society has a vision of a future without fragility fractures, and in order to achieve this vision the NOS need your help to provide:
• Support for people with osteoporosis, their family and carers.
• Information to warn people who may be at risk.
• Education for young people about diet, exercise and smoking issues.
• Training for health professionals on diagnosis and treatment.
• Research into vital areas like pain relief.
