Story
September 15 update:
Mission accomplished: I and the rest of the team completed the 40-mile Round Rutland Plod yesterday - in a total of 17 and a half hours (inc two hours for breaks) - pretty tired, a little sore at the end - but alive! It was one enormous challenge (esp for a oldie like me) - believe me - but we achieved it.
So now read my original story, please:
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm aiming to walk 40 miles in one go - as part of a four-strong team from Northampton's Royal & Derngate theatre where I am a trustee - starting at midnight on Friday September 13.
We are are taking part in the Round Rutland Plod – a 40-mile overnight trek, organised by Action Medical Research for Children. Have a look at the event website - http://www.action.org.uk/plod_rutland_round - it's quite daunting - especially for a 57-year-old!
We're raising funds for both the theatre and Action Medical Research, which funds scores of much-needed kids' projects across the country – and hope that you will be able to support us. Knowing that you are donating will certainly make the 15 hours go faster!
The Royal & Derngate is one of the UK's finest regional theatres that not only produces great and orignal work but also attracts thousands of young peope every year through its community programmes – and we are a charity so every penny raised goes to a great cause
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charities. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charities.
So please donate if you can - and encourage an old man round Rutland...
Thank you
Neil
